Nikita Haas was born in Ukraine, and started playing the violin at the age of 5. During his studies, he fell in love with viola and 10 years later he switched to viola. His education includes studies at the Kyiv Institute of Music named by R. Glier, and later at the Maastricht Conservatory in Netherlands with Michael Kugel. He finished Performance Diploma in Viola Performance at Roosevelt University in Chicago where he is also finishing his Master’s degree with Igor Fedotov, and is a recipient of scholarship.
He is a winner of the “New Names of Ukraine,” a national competition in Kyev. He is also a winner of “International Chamber Music Competition named by Bortniansky” in Kyiv.
His performances include Concerts in “Kyiv Philharmonie,” “National Opera House” in Kyiv, Concerts in Augsburg in Germany, Chamber music performances in Chicago at the Roosevelt University, as well as orchestra performances at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
He also participated in Masterclasses with violinist Boris Belkin, pianist Martin Katz violist Roger Chase and Carol Cook.
