Stefani Babic began studying and playing the piano at 8 years old with Nera Grujic, and later with Olga Borzenko. Her accomplishments include solo, chamber, special prizes and laureates. She is an active soloist and chamber music performer in various venues in Chicago. Stefani has participated in masterclasses with Ursala Opens, Martin Katz, Enrico Elisi, Paul Barnes, Yuri Kot and Vladimir Ogarkov.
Stefani is also an avid interpreter of contemporary music, premiering many original works by emerging Chicago-based composers. In October 2012, Stefani was chosen among six soloists from CCPA in competition to perform throughout the region, and at the Fall 2012 Piano Showcase Recital was recorded for future broadcast on WFMT Chicago's classical music station (98.7 FM).
Stefani Babic has been selected as a 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Ludmila Lazar Scholarship recipient during her studies at CCPA. She received bachelor and master's degrees at Roosevelt University with honors under the guidance of Dr. Ludmila Lazar. Highlights of recent concerts include performances at the North Shore Chamber Music Festival in Northbrook, IL. Stefani also teaches piano and enjoys working with children and adult students of all ages on an individual basis.
